SKYTECH acquired this new 42,000 square-meter site in March 2021. Previously, the location was home to the factories of DRAKA PARICABLE, a company that was forced to definitively close in late 2014.
Following a gradual commissioning process that began April 6, 2022, the site is now operational. The group has invested more than 17 million euros to modernize the site and bring this key project to fruition. The result will enable SKYTECH to handle production capacity of over 50,000 tons of regenerated plastics (rABS, rPS, rPP) by 2024.
As a winner of the “Relocalization” call for projects of the France Relance recovery plan, SKYTECH received an ad hoc grant from BPI France to support the development of its industrial facility, as well as support from the Communauté d’Agglomération Seine-Eure to modernize the site.
In Val d’Hazey, SKYTECH possesses 19,000 square meters of buildings intended to host its industrial activities, with a first round of production lines are now operational, its R&D operations and its new head office. The site currently employs a workforce of 80. SKYTECH is pursuing a gradual implementation of its production lines and will continue recruiting in the months to come.
The site will be officially inaugurated in September.
“We are very proud to be reviving this site, which boasts a long industrial history and to contribute to the attractiveness of the region through the development of a value-added activity that creates jobs. This marks a new key step in the development of SKYTECH. The new site gives us the technical means necessary to accelerate our development and our internationalization in a sector where the expectations of our industrial customers and society are very high. I would like to thank our shareholder Xerys Invest, as well as BPI France and the Comité d’Agglomération Seine-Eure for their valuable support,” shared Christophe Lamboeuf, SKYTECH’s CEO.
A company active in the intelligent and sustainable circular economy, SKYTECH contributes to revolutionizing the plastics industry with eco-plastics. This rising star of the French industrial landscape produces premium recycled materials from complex plastic waste for industrial applications. After many years of R&D carried out with support from ADEME, SKYTECH has developed a well-protected, innovative sorting platform enabling the separation of post-consumer polymers at a purity rate greater than 99% as well as their granulation. SKYTECH offers a concrete answer to the challenge facing the plastics industry, namely, how to evolve their product to serve eco-design as well as to address a major environmental issue at the heart of society’s concerns. As a company, SKYTECH also strives to limit its own environmental impact with a production tool delivering first class energy performance. SKYTECH has been supported since its founding by Xerys.
